Meet the Coaches

Cheryl Willoughby

Cheryl is an avid soccer athlete, coach and mom of one current Future STAR! and one future Future STAR! Her 3-year old and a lack of a real opportunity for him to participate in a soccer activity that did not revolve around a game/league situation were the main forces behind the development of the Future STARS! program. Cheryl is a licensed coach, having attained the Provincial B License designation. Over the past ten years, she has coached numerous local club teams and various provincial select teams, including a highlight as the assistant coach of the 2001 Canada Games Women’s (Bronze Medalist) Team. Cheryl began playing soccer at the local club level in Regina and graduated on to a number of provincial all-star teams and played 5 years at the university level. She is a Director of the Saskatchewan Soccer Association and Past-President of Sasksport Inc. Outside of soccer, Cheryl is a lawyer with the City of Regina.

The highlight of her career was a trip to Australia in 2009 to compete in the World Masters Games. Lara has completed her Provincial B- License designation and has coached Provincial teams in two national competitions. She is going into her 4th year as the assistant coach with the University of Regina Cougars. Lara loves coaching FS! and especially enjoys dressing up for the Pirate Session... ARGH!
